Dear Four State Member and Prospective Member:

The Utah Department of Public Safety is hosting the 2008 Fall Conference in Cedar City,
Utah. The conference will commence at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, October 1st, and
conclude at noon on Friday October 3rd.

The conference will be held at the Comfort Inn & Suites in Cedar City Utah. Motel
reservations may be made at the Comfort Inn & Suites, 1288 South Main Street, Cedar
City Utah 84720, (435) 865-0003. The room rate is $65.00 plus tax for a standard room
with 1 or 2 persons. Upgrade rooms are available at rates from $75.00 to $95.00 plus
tax. These rates are available Thru September 15, 2008. Standard rooms are blocked
under “Four State Peace Officers Association”. As always, spouses and guests are
welcome.

Presentations will include a legal update and discussion by Ken Wallentine of the Utah
State Attorney General’s Office and a very entertaining and educational class from
Doctors Cory Reich and Kevin McCauley from the Institute For Addictive Studies in Salt
Lake.

Sightseeing in the Cedar City area, includes the Iron Mission State Park and Cedar
Breaks National Monument. The Utah Shakespearian Festival at Southern Utah
University will be going during that time if you would like to catch a play.

The “Dutch Oven” dinner was so well liked at the conference in Moab four year ago that
we will be doing another “Dutch Oven” dinner at this conference. Bring your appetite!
